Extensions for Joomla! 5.x • Social proof popup close button not closing popup

greetings

I am not much of a coder but I fiddle with it.

I am using Joomla 4.4.6 and Gantry 5

The social proof popup at the bottom left does NOT allow me to close the popup window with the close button at the top right of it.

Does the JS need to be included in the HEAD element or can be as "script" within the element with CSS and html as I did for testing?

Anyone have any idea?
